Key 1: Begin In The Beginning!
As obvious as it seems, most of us do not begin in the beginning.
We jump off or into our preoccupation with task often without knowing
where we are going, how we are going to get there, who we are going
with or even why we want to make the journey. So take time in the beginning
to create greater harmony and balance and ensure the success of each
of your ventures. Do the essentials first.

Key 2: Say, "YES".
Learning to say "YES" instead of "NO" to change
and to life could well be the single most important step any of us ever
take. Saying "YES" as often as we can to as many constructive,
uplifting, creative and adventurous actions, experiences and people
as possible is a key to success.. Say "YES" to our dreams,
to those unique and special talents and abilities and to the things
we have always wanted to do.

Key 3: Establish A Solid Foundation.
Building as healthy a body, mind and emotions as possible are essential
steps in creating a primary foundation for a successful life. How we
achieve them is up to each one us, but one thing is clear; a decent
exercise program, the right kind of diet, time spent increasing our
self-awareness and our emotional intelligence and, above all, paying
attention to our best source of wisdom through reflection, prayer and
meditation are all essentials.

Key 4: Eliminate Personal History
Memories and those old stories about the past - about who we were and
what we did with whom and when - are like large trunks or heavy satchels
we lug around with us from moment to moment. Not only do they encumber
our movements, they actually prevent us from having the freedom and
ease to focus on where we are (our present) and on where we want to
go (our future). Pack all those memories and old stories away for rainy
afternoons with hot chocolate or tea. Give yourself the gift of living
each moment new and unencumbered.

Key 5: Celebrate Excellence
There is no substitute for excellence. It is a word that describes a
way of living life - a process, not a goal. This process allows us to
shape our thoughts, words and actions in a manner that elevates the
way we play the game of life. As a standard, excellence will keep us
from cheating ourselves or our process, of settling for mediocrity or
inferior quality or performance. Applying excellence as our standard
will assist us to do all things to the best of our abilities and to
discover new levels of self-confidence and joy.

Key 6: Eliminate Personal Censorship.
When we give our inner censor a rest, we begin to live life more truthfully
and passionately. This key advises each of us to begin saying what we
mean, what we feel and what we believe. It cautions us not to divide
our world into a private inner world in which we are honest, courageous
and bold and an outer world in which we are compliant, evasive and timid.

Key 7: Start Connecting, Understanding &
Accepting
When we protect and defend against something we empower the thing, person
or belief against which we are defending. So our challenge and our opportunity
in using this key is to own our thoughts, words and actions to make
connections, to understand and accept differences. Where we do find
that we do not like something that is happening or one of our thoughts,
words or actions, we can change it. Accepting full responsibility for
our lives and choosing connection over separation, understanding over
defense is a powerful and major shift.

Key 8: Honor Wants
So much of our life energy and passion is tied up inside of us in unnamed
and unexpressed wants. This key advises us to take the time and have
the courage to name our wants, evaluate which are constructive and positive
enough to be worth expressing and experiencing and then doing precisely
that. This key suggests that honoring our wants may be one of the real
doorways to the joy and the privilege of participating fully in our
lives.

Key 9: Re-Act To Nothing
Attachments limit choice. It is a simple as that. We can be passionately
committed to excellence and work diligently and effectively to achieve
the results we want without being attached to a specific outcome. This
key advises us that attachment limits not only our choice, but the possible
scope of our success. Learning to be neutral, in balance, and non-reactive
puts us on the fast track to achieving the highest and best results
that are possible.

Key 10: Pay Attention To Self Talk
It is said that if we talked to others the way we talk to ourselves
we would have no friends. This key advises us that learning to pay attention
to the things we think and say to ourselves about ourselves, others
and the world around us can empower us and engage us in life like no
other. Our self talk is literally the way we either reinforce or alter
the positive and the negative beliefs, opinions and judgments we hold
in our minds.

Key 11: Eliminate Limiting Beliefs
Our thoughts are killing us. At a rate of over 1200 words a minute and
50,000 separate thoughts per day, our minds repeat and create beliefs,
opinions and judgments - many of which are uncensored, unfiltered and
negative. This key advises us to learn to identify our limited beliefs
and to replace them with positive, supportive, powerful ones that contribute
meaningful to our ability to say Yes to change and to life.

Key 12: Find Balance.
Of all of the tools needed to live life joyfully and fully, balance
is, indeed, one of the most important. This key advises us to be sure
to balance our spiritual, emotional, mental, physical and financial
needs. Each should be given its due. Each is important in providing
us with the energy, the focus and the ability to deal enthusiastically
and constructively with the many changes in life that are unavoidable,
to minimize the obstacle they contain and take full advantage of the
opportunities they present.

Key 13: Avoid Generalizations, Deletions
& Distortions
To live life fully we must live life honestly. If we communicate to
ourselves and to others in broad, nonspecific terms that leave things
out, and exaggerate or deflate other we will obscure the truth of who
we are and what we want. This key advises us to avoid those forms of
communication - generalizations, deletions and distortions - that obstruct
our ability to lead empowered, effective and truly productive lives.
